(1) For blacksmiths
Because leaf springs are made of high-quality steel, they are the favorite material of blacksmiths. In countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Pakistan where traditional blacksmiths still produce a large number of tools, the plate springs of discarded cars are often used to make tools such as knives.
(2) Used in trampolines
Plate springs have also replaced traditional coil springs in some trampolines (known as soft edge trampolines), which improves user safety and reduces the risk of concussion. The plate spring surrounds the frame with "legs" spaced apart, branching off from the base frame to suspend the jumping pad, providing elasticity.
(3) Used in clutches
The common "diaphragm" in car clutches is a type of plate spring.
